Memories of Micha Brumlik z”L sought

Photos, letters, documents and personal stories:

We are looking for memories of
Prof. Dr Micha Brumlik (1947–2025).

We are particularly interested in his youth, his connection to Jewish youth movements and his commitment to young people and political education.

What is this about?

Micha Brumlik was a prominent Jewish intellectual, educator and researcher into anti-Semitism, as well as a long-standing friend and supporter of Hashomer Hatzair.

As part of a remembrance and educational project, we are producing a short documentary film and accompanying information materials.
In doing so, we also aim to bring to light lesser-known personal stories and historical materials.

Our aim is to document Micha’s connection to Jewish youth movements and to make his thoughts and commitment accessible to future generations.

What are we looking for?

We would be delighted to receive personal memories and materials from various
stages of his life, in particular:

📷 Old photographs
✉️ Letters and correspondence
📄 Documents and publications
🎞️ Film and audio recordings
🗣️ Personal memories
📚 Materials from youth movements

Every memory counts

Perhaps you knew Micha personally, worked with him, or
met him at an event, in a youth organisation or during your own youth.

Even individual photos, short stories or references to people and archives that might hold further material are very valuable to us.

You do not need to hand over the originals. Digital copies or scans are welcome. We will, of course, clarify any potential publication and the necessary usage rights in advance.

Would you like to contribute?

Please feel free to send us a message with your memories, photos or suggestions.
We’re grateful for any support!
