Queer Hebrew Course: „Jüdisches Empowerment ist Bunt“

Was ist es?
Diesen Sommer starten wir ein Projekt, dass es so noch nie gegeben hat. Das Herzstück des Projektes ist ein „Queer-Hebräisch“-Kurs mit verschiedenen Hebräisch-Lektionen (2x pro Woche) und Exkursionen ab Anfang Juni. Das Projekt soll es Jugendlichen und jungen Erwachsenen ermöglichen, hebräisch und jüdisch-und queer-sein zusammenzudenken.
Der Sprachkurs wird ständig begleitet von einer Reflexion über das Judentum, seiner Geschichte, sowie Kunst und Kultur aus der Geschlechterperspektive. In diesem geschützten Raum können sich junge Menschen austauschen, ermächtigen und Judentum neu denken.
An wen richtet sich das Angebot?
Die Kurse richten sich an alle Interessierten ab 12 und bis 27 Jahren (queer und nicht queer, Juden:Jüdinnen oder nicht Juden:Jüdinnen). Die Hebräisch-Lektionen werden in zwei Altersgruppen stattfinden. Hebräisch-Vorkenntnisse sind keine Voraussetzung. Mitglieder von Hashomer Hatzair erhalten eine Ermäßigung – aber es ist offen für alle.
Wann findet es statt?
Die Kurse starten Anfang Juni und finden zweimal pro Woche – jeweils dienstags und donnerstags – bis Mitte Juli statt. Für die Altersgruppe 12-17 Jahre immer von 16-17:30 Uhr, für die Altersgruppe 19-27 Jahre immer von 18-19:30 Uhr.
Veranstaltungen rund um das Thema Queer-sein und Judentum finden an einigen Wochenenden in diesem Zeitraum statt, voraussichtlich am 14./15.06, 28. & 30.06. und 13./14.07.
Wo finden die Kurse statt?
Der Kurs wird am neuen Standort von Ken Berlin stattfinden, im Osten Berlins. Genauere Angaben zum Ort, werden vor Kursbeginn bekanntgegeben. Darüber hinaus sind aber auch Touren und Exkursionen beispielsweise zum Jüdischen Museum, dem Spinnboden Lesbenarchiv & mehr, geplant.

What is it?
This summer we are launching a project that has never existed before. The centerpiece of the project is a „Queer Hebrew“ course with various Hebrew lessons (2x per week) and excursions from the beginning of June. The project aims to enable teenagers and young adults to think about Hebrew and being queer and Jewish together.
The Hebrew lessons (beginners’ level) will be led by an expert, Dr. Hila Amit, who is sensitive to the intersectionality of identities and can provide a safe and respectful learning environment.
The language course is constantly accompanied by reflection on Judaism, its history, art and culture from a gender perspective. In this safe(r) space, young people can exchange ideas, empower themselves and think Judaism in a different way.
Who is the offer aimed at?
The courses are aimed at everyone between the ages of 12 and 27 (queer and non-queer, Jewish and non-Jewish). The Hebrew lessons will take place in two age groups. No previous knowledge of Hebrew is required. Members of Hashomer Hatzair get a discount – but it is open for everyone.
When does it take place?
The courses start at the beginning of June and take place twice a week – on Tuesdays and Thursdays – until mid-July. For the age group 12-17 years always from 16-17:30, for the age group 19-27 years always from 18-19:30. Events on the subject of queer life and Judaism will take place on some of the weekends during this period, probably on the 14th /15 th June., 28 th & 30 th June und 13 th /14 th July.
Where will the courses take place?
The course will take place in the new Ken Berlin location, in east Berlin. More detailed information about the location will be announced before the start of the course. The Tours and excursions are also planned, for example to the Jewish Museum, the Spinnboden Lesbian Archive & more.
