Wer sind wir?
Hashomer Hatzair ist der internationale, linke jüdische Jugendverband in Deutschland, der soziale Gerechtigkeit und Dialog durch nicht-formale Bildungsmethoden fördert. Die Jugendbewegung wurde vor 10 Jahren, nach mehr als 70 Jahren, in Deutschland wiedergegründet. Unser Kernprinzip ist die Autonomie der Jugend. Wir befähigen Jugendliche und junge Erwachsene, ihre Gemeinschaft durch die Organisation von Aktivitäten und Veranstaltungen zu gestalten. Unser Aktivitätszentrum ist „Ken Berlin“, das das ganze Jahr über Aktivitäten initiiert.
Was ist ein „Sommermachane“?
Das bedeutet „Sommercamp“ (auf Hebräisch), ein Raum für Kinder und Jugendliche, in dem sie sich frei ausdrücken und lebenslange Freundschaften schließen können. Unser Programm beinhaltet lustige Outdoor-Aktivitäten, kreative Projekte und interessante Workshops. Der Höhepunkt des Sommers findet in einer wunderschönen Jugendbildungsstätte in Brandenburg statt, die viel Platz bietet, um alle notwendigen Covid-Vorschriften einzuhalten.
Wonach suchen wir bei Teammitgliedern?
Wir suchen ein motiviertes, vielfältiges Team mit unterschiedlichen Hintergründen. Idealerweise bist du 16 bis 21 Jahre alt und politisch interessiert. Das Wichtigste: Du hast Lust, mit uns eine unvergessliche Sommermachane zu gestalten! Erfahrung in der Arbeit mit Kindern und Jugendlichen ist von Vorteil, aber nicht notwendig. Im Hinblick auf deine Rolle im Team fragen wir dich: Welche Fähigkeiten, Erfahrungen oder Kenntnisse möchtest du in das Camp einbringen? Welche Art von Aktivitäten macht dir Spaß und du fühlst dich wohl dabei?
Helfer*innen 16-18: Deine Verantwortung als Helfer*in ist, als unterstützende Kraft bei der Durchführung des Sommermachanes dabei zu sein. Du bist beispielsweise in der Planung von Abendprogrammen und Ausflügen involviert. In dieser Position hast du auch die perfekte Möglichkeit Hashomer Hatzair und unsere Jugendarbeit kennenzulernen sowie erste Fähigkeiten der Jugendarbeit mitzunehmen
Teamer*innen: 18-21: Du bist in der Planung sowie in der Durchführung des Sommermachanes aktiv und planst Workshops und weitere Aktivitäten. Für die Teilnehmenden bist du erste*r Ansprechpartner*in und bist im engen Kontakt mit der Koordinatorin und dem weiteren Team.
Warte, aber was ist, wenn ich noch mehr helfen möchte?
Super, das kannst du gerne! Wir bieten einen Platz für einen Praktikanten oder eine Praktikantin an, der/die uns bei der Vorbereitung der Sommeraktivitäten unterstützt, für ein oder zwei Monate in Teilzeit. Als Teil des Büroteams lernst du die Arbeit „hinter den Kulissen“ kennen und erfährst, wie du Aktivitäten für unsere Community und Freund*innen organisierst.
Bei einem Vorbereitungswochenende im Juli, wollen wir uns kennenlernen und gemeinsam unsere Vision für das Machane formulieren.
Fahrtkosten und Unterbringungskosten werden von uns übernommen.

The youth movement was re-established in Germany 10 years ago, after more than 70 years. Our core principle is youth autonomy. We empower youth and young adults to shape their community by organising activities and events. Our activity center is “Ken Berlin”, which initiates activities all through the year.
What’s a “Sommermachane”?
Meaning “summer camp” (in Hebrew), a space for children and youth in which they can express themselves freely and build lifelong friendships. Our program contains fun outdoor activities, creative projects and interesting workshops. The summer’s highlight will take place at a beautiful Jugendbildungsstätte in Brandenburg that offers plenty of space to adhere to all necessary Covid regulations.
What do we look for in team members?
We are looking for a motivated, diverse team from different backgrounds. Ideally, you’re 16 to 21 years old and politically interested. Most importantly: you’re excited to create a memorable Sommermachane with us! Experience in working with kids and youth is an advantage but not necessary. Considering your role in the team we ask you: what kind of skills, experience or knowledge do you want to bring to the camp? What kind of activities do you love and feel comfortable with?
Helpers 16-17: Your responsibility as a helper is to be a supporting force in the implementation of the Sommermachane. For example, you will be involved in planning evening programs and excursions. In this position you will also have the perfect opportunity to get to know Hashomer Hatzair and our youth work as well as to pick up first skills of youth work.
Teamer*innen: 18-21: You will be involved in the planning as well as the implementation of the Sommermachane and plan workshops and other activities. You are the first contact person for the participants and are in close contact with the coordinator and the rest of the team.
Wait, but what if I want to help more?
Great, you are welcome to! We offer a place for an intern to help us preparing the summer activities, for one or two months in a part-time. As part of the office team, you can learn about the “behind the scenes”, and how to organise activities for our community and friends.
The team will have a prep-seminar in July, where we will get to know each other and map out the vision for the camp.
Costs for travel and accommodation will be covered by us.
